Ivy Mae Dearle

Well its taken me 2 weeks to post this but Graham, Hadley, and I are so happy to welcome Ivy Mae Dearle into our lives... Born December 18, 2011 @ 7:25 pm... She weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. She looks just like her big sister and is just as sweet! We are absoulutly in love! Hadley has been so great with her. She gets a little over zealous when loving on her and we are constantly reminding her to 'be soft', but other than that it has been a really smooth transition.

As far as labor goes, it was SOOOO much easier with Ivy than Hadley!
We got to the hospital at 3:30pm and I honestly wasn't sure if it was the real thing or not... I had been having contractions but nothing overly painful and defiantly nothing like it was with Hads... We had Hadley's birthday party at 5 so we thought we should just go get checked "just in case"! We got right in, got checked, and into a delivery room within 30 minutes... It was go time! I got the epidural and my water broken, pushed for 20 minutes and Ivy was born at 7:25pm! Everything happened within half the time of Hadley and about a quarter of the pain! I always wanted to punch those women who said 'labor wasn't that bad' after I had Hadley, because it was so horrible with her, but after Ivy was born I honestly turned to G and said "That wasn't that bad"! hahaha.

The first 2 nights were a little rough because Ivy had her days and nights confused and was so gas-y!!! She cried a lot and I was terrified that was going to be our lives since we had it so easy with Hadley.... Since the 2nd night it has been great! Ivy is a great baby! She is eating well (minus a spit up problem) and sleeping well! She is back to her birth weight after getting down to 7 lbs in the first few days and her jaundice levels were normal after day 4!
We have been so lucky to have G home on winter break for the last 2 weeks! He has one more week home and then reality sets in for me! I am a little nervous to have the girls home by myself but hopefully will get the hang of it quickly!!!

I will try and be better about blogging, but have never been good at it when I am home...

37 weeks with Munchkin

Well we are officially full term!!!!
Its such a sense of relief and accomplishment to hint the 37 week mark!
I had my 37 week appointment yesterday and baby is looking great (well sounding)!
Heart rate was between 115-120 which kind of freaked me out because it sounded so low, but the OB said that it was perfectly normal. I also had my Strep B test (FUN)! She didn't feel the need (nor did I) to "check me" because I haven't had any physical indications that something could be progressing... Plus, considering my experience with Hadley being dilated weeks before she was born, I honestly didn't want to know! I do feel like this baby will come a little early (sometime between 38-39 weeks) I certainly have no control over it and am perfectly fine with avoiding the "checks" until next week! hahaha.
I am just happy that I am measuring right on schedule and baby sounds healthy and happy!

I have gained 27 pounds which is almost exactly the same as I was with Hads at 37 weeks (maybe a pound more) but weigh a few pounds less since I started out less with this pregnancy!

35 Weeks (Last Week)

Ok so I am a little behind! I will actually be 36 weeks tomorrow but here are some stats and pictures from our 35 week appointment last Wednesday...

35 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +25 pounds

Maternity clothes: Yes, or Belly Bands

Stretch marks: Nope :)
Sleep: Getting very difficult in between pee breaks, getting comfortable, the party in my belly, and indegestion :( But we are manageing.
Best Moment of the week: Seeing Munchkin on an ultrasound at our appointment. This was unexpected but they thought baby had possibly turned (which baby did NOT) thank goodness...
Movement: Very active!

Food cravings: Every day is different... Some days I have to force myself to eat, others, I eat everything in sight!

Gender: You'll have to wait and see

Labor Signs: None just yet... I do feel like baby is lower, but hard to tell since I carry so low anyway.

Belly Button in or out: Flat

What I miss: 8 hours straight of sleep, but lets be honest, haven't had that since before I was pregnant with Hadley -(Still the same, haha)

Wow, I have been absent!

Well not that I ever have anything really interesting to say, but I have been a non-blogger for a while...
Life has been so busy and with me not working as much (only time I seem to blog) I kind of just stopped blogging! I have continued to read everyone else's blogs though!!! I LOVE reading about other people's lives.
The last month has been busy, but I know its only going to get busier over the next month or so. Seems like we have so much going on. G is in school and I am working 2 days a week and spending the other 3 with my little angel! We haven't really done much to prepare for Baby #2 because we haven't had the time!!! Everyone keeps saying its close, but it still seems very far away for me. While I am beyond happy and excited for Baby, I really want to spend the next few weeks cherishing every second with Hadley. Life is not only changing for us, but for her as well, and in a HUGE way.

Speaking of Hads, she is finally really loving daycare! We have the occasional 'bad drop-off' but NOTHING like the beginning. She has a great group of friends and loves all of her teachers. Her vocabulary is really improving as well which has always concerned me... She is such a sweet loving little girl! Don't get me wrong, she has her moments and throws great tantrums, but she gets over them pretty quick. She LOVES to give hugs and cuddle which makes me so happy.

Tonight will be night # 19 of her going to bed on her own! We tried it back in July and it was a nightmare, but this time has been great... She has only had one semi-bad night and that was nothing compared to our July attempt. I guess she just had to be ready! I still snuggle during nap time on the weekends but its more for me than her. G and I always say that we are happy that she can go to bed on her own, but we really miss cuddle time... Of course after a month (or the habit is formed) we will have some cuddle nights again.

I will update about Baby #2 next week after our appointment...

25 Weeks - Munchkin

25 Weeks! Big milestone!!! I have been a lot more relaxed during this pregnancy but still feeling like getting to 25 weeks lets me breathe a little easier! Our little Munchkin is officially an Eggplant this week. He/She is moving like crazy! M is most active after I eat and seems to have a party between the hours of 3-6 am most nights! haha. This next week is lots of routine blood work and the lovely glucose test... Everyone complains about the taste but it really didn't bother me with Hads... Hopefully its the same this time around!

We are also finally booked in for another ultrasound to hopefully find out for sure what this little one is... At 18 weeks baby was very stubborn and the tech could only 'guess'! Hopefully we get more than butt shots this time around... Its still a few weeks away but I am excited to see this little one again! Cant believe it will be the last time until December!!!!

Labor Day Weekend Continued... Monday

Monday was another really fun day!
We spent the morning at the park with the dogs, hung out on the deck, helped Daddy with yard work, Mommy with Laundry, Lunch, and then a nap!!!!

After our afternoon nap we decided to use a couple free passes we got a while back and go to Calloway Park... For those non-Canadians, its Alberta's "version" of 6 flags, but honestly its about 1/2 a flag! haha. Its very small with only one roller coaster, but was PERFECT for Hadley! She had so much fun... Some of the rides scared her a bit I think, but all in all we had a blast!
If you notice below her favorite part of the day was the bubble gum ice cream!!! :)

Labor Day Weekend Continued...

Ok for some reason I couldn't add anymore pics to my last post so I figured I would just separate the weekend into days...

So anyway, Sunday Morning we had some friends in town so we met them at their hotel for a little swim! Hadley had such a great time on the water slides... I swear that kid has NO FEAR when it comes to the swimming pool, which is kind of terrifying to me...

Sunday afternoon we went to the Corn Maze and Petting Zoo just outside of Calgary. It was AWESOME!!!! Hopefully we will keep the good weather around and get to go again this year!!!

Labor Day Weekend!

This past weekend (Labor Day) was my FAVORITE weekend we have had in such a long time...

G got rained out of work so he was home ALL WEEKEND! The weather was beautiful so we spent most of the weekend outside!
Saturday Morning we spent time out on our deck with Hads, went for a walk down to the playground, played in the yard with the dogs... After our naps (yes, our nap, as in family nap) we loaded up the whole crew and went to the dog park along the river! We had such a great time.

Busy Week...

So a lot went on this week and even though I sit at a computer ALL DAY LONG, I never found the time to Blog about it...

Wednesday the 31st marked two important things...

Baby is 24 wks...
I have a OB appointment on Tuesday so I will have more updates. Moving and kicking more and more. Indigestion in full force, tums are my best friends! Had blood work on Wednesday to check my thyroid (results on Tuesday), and I am pretty sure more weight gain ;) Hadley is becoming more and more interested in my Belly and 'whats going on with it' but I am sure she still doesn't understand there is actually a baby in there.

3 year Anniversary!
Its hard to believe that we have been married 3 years! Its been a crazy 3 years, but I wouldn't trade a single minute! I love my husband so much and feel truly blessed to have fortunate enough to marry my best friend!
We went to dinner, childless, for the 1st time in forever... We missed Hads, but it was nice to get to just be us for an hour... Talk, laugh, and not worry about what was going to be spilled on me during dinner! haha. I am excited to see what all the next year has in store for our growing family! :)

Last night (Thursday) my sister-n-laws flew into Calgary for a concert. Morgan brought her 2 month old, Emery, so we got to see a little into our future!!! G and I took care of sweet Emery while the girls went to the concert... I have been slightly terrified to become a family of 4, for many reasons, but last night really must me at ease about it. Yes, it was a little chaotic, but we all survived! haha. Hadley is going to be such a great big sister. I was happy to see how sweet she is with Emery. A little to 'touchy' but we will work on it.

And today...
Bonnie, our nanny, leaves us to go back to school!
We are so sad to see her leave and so incredibly grateful that she spent the summer with us. Hadley loves her so much and I know she is going to miss her like crazy, as will we.
We wish her the best of luck in school and know she is going to make a fantastic teacher in the coming years!!!! Thank you Bonnie for everything!!!!

Hadley and Baby

Well this morning was a VERY rough morning for Hadley and I...
We were accepted into the daycare/preschool that G and I absolutely love that is across the street from my building downtown and Hadley had her 1st day this morning. We still have our Nanny until the end of the month but since we had to pay for the August spot at school we decided it would be nice to transition Hadley slowly into the childcare setting... She will go one day this week and 2 days a week for the rest of August, full time starting September 6th. G is still out of town working so it was just me braving the big drop off today and as I expected, it was AWFUL!!!! I got to stay for about 45 minutes this morning (they encourage that) and while I was there Hads was having a blast! She played with the other kids, toys, and had breakfast with the other kids! The teachers were so impressed, but I warned them to 'just wait' until I left the room! We gave hugs and then I got her playing with blocks while I snuck out... It took about 90 seconds for her to realize that I wasn't there and to become very upset. I told outside watching (she couldn't see me) and bawled like a baby as I watched them try and calm her down! It wasn't working so I asked the director to take her soother to her! She isn't typically allowed to have it except when sleeping, but whatever calmed her down at this point was FINE BY ME!!!! She took the soother and calmed down right away. I stayed for another 10 minutes or so and watched as they started the bubble machine and she someone content watching the bubbles and holding hands with one of the little boys.
I left reassured by the director that she would email me with an update later in the morning... She said Hadley is doing really well! She will cry for a minute and then find a new toy to play with, cry for a minute, then find someone to hold hands with (this REALLY comforts her) , so forth and so on. I will go check on her on my lunch break and hopefully things will just get better and better! I am sure that we will go through this every time for the next few weeks, but I am praying it gets easier for both of us!!!!
The teachers (yes, actual teachers) are fabulous and all of the kids seemed very well mannered and sweet! I love this place and hope that Hadley grows to love it. I know that it will really help her grow and develop!

As for baby... I am 21 Weeks today! Baby is growing and moving a lot more lately. Kicks are getting stronger and stronger and I am sure G will be able to feel them the next time we see him! I have a OB appointment on Friday and will update again then, but don't really expect anything that new, maybe a few stats!

New Infant Seat!!!

Hello All!

Its been a while... Hadley and I were in OKC for the last week (will blog about that later) but for now... The Baby.. Hard to believe that I am 20 weeks and 1 day!!!! This pregnancy seems to be flying by. At our 18 week ultrasound everything looked great! Baby is measuring a couple of days ahead (my tall children) and looks amazingly healthy! This baby seems to be a lot more laid back than Hadley... Perfectly content just lounging around not getting overly excited about too much! He\she might just be our 'lazy baby'! haha. We will see when baby arrives. Hadley was always so active in womb but has been a very easy going baby. I am so interested to see the differences in personalities between our children!
I have an OB appointment next Friday so I can give some stats... Cant wait to hear baby's heartbeat again! I love that sound more than anything! Hoping to schedule another ultrasound for 28 weeks, but they are pretty stingy with ultrasounds around here unless they feel they are medically necessary???

We pick up are infant car seat while in OKC!!! Hard to believe that we are on our 2nd one!!!!

I feel bad because I never blog about our first born Children, Addicus and Baxter so here are a few pics from the weekend!

Addicus will be 7 next week!!! Its hard to believe! I still remember driving home with my 4 Pound baby riding between my legs in the front seat of my Jetta! Love that girl!!!

Hadley with her brother and sister! They love each other so much! And Addicus is the 'protector' of this stroller when we are at the dog park!!! She wont let another dog remotely close to her little sister!

Baxter of course is my 'problem child'! We were on our way out of the dog park after a hour (that he stayed clean) and had to find the ONLY mud hole in the entire place!!! GRRR! I was not pleased! But as you can tell by the droll he was oh so proud of himself... That is until bath time! hahaha.

16 Weeks- Munchkin :)

Hard to believe that I am already 16 weeks... that is until you see me! haha.

Not a whole lot to report on. I have a doctors appointment Friday and will hopefully get booked in for my ultrasound before OKC. Feeling great, sleeping ok, minus the peeing, and getting big!

Here is a bump pic... I am not sure if I should be offended or happy that the flash blurred my face out! haha.

Calgary Stampede starts this weekend, and Will and Kate will be here!!! This City is always crazy with Stampede but I have a feeling it will be OUT OF CONTROL time around!!!

Weekend Fun in Saskatoon!

This past weekend Hadley I am flew out to Saskatoon (G was working) to spend the holiday weekend with G's family and our newest niece Emery Jean! The weekend was amazing! Weather was nice and Hadley loved playing with her cousins and best friends, Kaden & Presley, all weekend!
It was Canada day on July 1 and of course Independence day on the 4th! I am usually quite sad on the 4th because it makes me miss home so badly, but this one wasn't so bad because I know its my LAST one to miss!!!!!

Bottles? What Bottle?

At 18 months we decided that it was time to wean Hadley from her nighttime bottle...

I thought it was going to be a challenge because she LOVES her ba-bee.... I had planned to use the same system I did with her morning bottle months earlier... Make it an ounce less every night until there was nothing left... It worked wonderfully with her morning bottle! I braced myself for what I thought would be a long couple of nights or week... On the 3rd night she was so tired I just gave her, her sippy cup and took her to bed. She had forgotten all about her ba-bee.... PERFECT! I thought this was my chance so while she was sleeping I packed up all of her bottles out of 'her draw' that she always gets them out of... Out of sight, out of mind I was hoping... Unbelievably its been about 10 days and she has only asked for her ba-bee once!!!! I am so happy to be done with bottles!!! I am hoping for the next year, but at least for the next 5 months!!!!
We are so lucky to have such a wonderful little girl!!! Hopefully the soother will go as smoothly next, but I DON'T see that happening! ;)

Sunday Funday, & Fathers Day! :)

Last Sunday was Fathers Day of course... Graham was away working so we did not plan on seeing him that day, but left him a little surprise in his glove box! It was rainy and cold, as usual, so Hadley and I decided to get our suits on and head to the pool! Hadley LOVES.TO.SWIM!!!! There is an awesome indoor aquatic center that we like taking her to. It has a something for every age and she always has a BLAST there.
After the pool we got a call from G saying that work had been rained out for the day and possible the next so he was driving home!!! While this sucks money wise, we were so excited to get to spend Fathers Day afternoon with him!!! It had also been 10 days since we had seen him so we were extra excited!!!
He got home around 3 and we decided to head to the mall. Hadley was in desperate need of some new shoes and my plan to wait until our visit to OKC wasn't going to work out considering she was busting out of her shoes... There isn't a lot of selection of toddler shoes around here for some reason but we actually found 2 pairs of pretty cute shoes. A pair of Puma sneakers and a pair of sandals! My sweet little girl is now wearing a size 5!!!!
After shopping we went out for a Father's dinner with G! Even though the service was terrible we had a great time just being together.... I didn't have my phone with me so I didn't get any pics with Hadley and G :( But did get a great one of Hads getting ready for the pool!

COME ON!!! Does it get any cuter? ;)

Hadley 18 Months (a few days late of course!)

Well my sweet pea turned 18 months last Thursday!!! I know I say it all of the time, but its so hard to believe that it has gone so fast (tear)! We celebrated her half birthday by getting her 18 month shots.... OUCH! I know, I am such a party pooper! It was only one shot this time and thank the lord, its her last set of shots until she is 4 1/2!!!! She did so great, not even a tear!

Her Stats:

Age : 18 Months

Weight: 26 pounds ( 75%) - This was a bit of a jump! What can I say, the girl likes to eat :)

Height: 33 Inches, or almost 3 feet tall! (90%) She has always been tall, but for some reason 'almost 3 FT seems CRAZY"!

After her shots we had to wait 15 minutes to make sure she didn't have any reactions... She played with the toys and the other kids... That is until a set of 3 week old twins came in. I couldn't believe how fascinated she was with them! A little 'too' fasinated'!!! She wanted to touch them so badly (and did once, oops)! I would distract her for a minute with the older kids and 2 seconds later she would be running back to the "babe, babe, babe"!!!! I think we are going to have quite the little helper come December!!! haha.

OKC one month from today!!!!

Little Munchkin

Yesterday I had my 13 week ultrasound. It went very well! The lady doing the ultrasound immediately commented on how active this little one was. Munchkin was going nuts in there. It was so cool to see how seemingly happy he/she was. Munchkin looks very healthy. We could see 2 arms, 2 legs, and 10 fingers. Heartbeat was 155BPM. He/She is measuring 2 days bigger than originally thought. Hopefully that means they got it wrong the first time and not that I will be having a 10 pound baby! haha.
G was out of town for work so I bought the CD so he could see all the pictures so here are a couple from yesterday...

I know that its still really early but I am fairly confident that I have already starting feeling little flutters... I felt them early with Hads (between 14-15 WKS) but certainly didn't expect to feel them at 13 weeks! It makes me very happy though. I love the feeling of that little life inside of you. I cant wait to start feeling real kicks... It honestly was the biggest thing I miss after having Hadley. My body just felt so empty?

That is all about Munchkin... Will have an appointment early next week with my family doctor and then hopefully start scheduling my monthlys with my OB.

Both of our Boxters are AMAZING with her, but Baxter is her BEST FRIEND! I love how much she loves him. She loves Addicus too, but she is a much better hider! ;)

Hadley is such an amazing little girl. I am loving watching her personality develop. She is so curious about everything. Such a little sponge for knowledge! Still not a lot of talking (at least that we can understand) but the peditrition said she has NO concerns about her development and understanding... Some kids are just content 'babbling' longer than other! Cant believe she will be 18 months on Thursday! Its going way too fast! I will update you with her 18 month appointment Thursday or Friday.
We have our 13 week ultrasound for the little munchkin later this morning so I will have an update about that tomorrow.

Well I haven't written in a while... We were out of town for 10 days and since we have been back I felt like I am just playing catch up in every aspect of my life!

1st- Maui!
Maui was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been. Graham and I loved it and will defiantly go back some day. Everyone asks how it was without Hads... Well... it was HARD! We are glad that we did it. We are glad that we didn't have to worry about schedules, packing snacks, naps, etc... but we would NOT do it again without her. I of course cried the first 24 hours and while it got easier I often found myself wishing she was with us. They just don't understand 'why' we left them. We will take short 2-,3. maybe 4 day trips but never 8 days again... Not until our kids are old enough to understand why we are leaving them and that we will be back!

Since we have been back from Maui its been a battle getting Hadley back into a routine. Her sleep schedule was all off. She was waking up at 4 am hysterical! I personally think she was afraid that she was going to wake up and we would be gone again... Call me crazy, but I truly think that is what it has been. The last few days have been a lot better but she is still getting up between 6:30-7. Its too early for her and she is exhausted before nap time but we don't know what else to do. We have tried just patting her back to sleep, but she totally freaks as soon as I walk out of the room. I tried rocking her back to sleep but she just looks at me like I am crazy and plays in my hair. Even tried giving her a bottle in the morning (broke that habit 5 months ago, but was desperate) and she wants no part of it? I am hoping that it gets better over time but I am defiantly open to suggestions.

Other than that its back to work as usual. I don't love it, but its a paycheck. We are STILL waiting on insurance to pay up on G's dental surgery from February which is stressful, not to mention G has been rained out of work for a week!!!!! Money is tight but looking at all of the tragedy down south right now, including OKC, I will NOT complain. My family and friends are safe and their house's all standing. We are blessed.

Want to take a second to ask everyone to say a special prayer for the Hamil family in Piedmont... The lost 2 of the children in the tornado's this week. This includes their extended family like my friend Mary Mitchell Brawner. I can not even begin to imagine what this family is going through.

Easter Egg Hunt!

We are going to be out of town next weekend so we decided to celebrate with an Egg Hunt a little early!
There is great petting zoo here in Calgary that has the Egg Hunt every weekend of April. We were a little disappointed in the actual Egg Hunt, but the petting zoo was Awesome! Hadley LOVES all animals so she was in heaven yesterday! The kids actually got to go in with the sheep and goat, and pet the horses so she was having the time of her life! The weather was brutal (cold and snowy) but we have come to expect it and just make the best of it!

I had every intention of finally getting the pictures of Hadley's new Patio toys up but then this happened....
While playing outside with my Mom the other day, Hadley (well her face) met the concrete :(

Mom said she missed the bottom step (there are only 2) of the stairs outside, that she is NOT allowed on-I digress- and face planted into the concrete patio! She is one tough cookie though. Mom said that she didn't cry long and was outraged when my Mom wouldn't let here back off the deck to play in the yard.

Her face is healing nicely but the cleaning of her 'owie' nightly is a nightmare. Hopefully only have to doctor it a few more nights and she should be as good as new ;)

Aggie Days

On Sunday we went to the Annual "Aggie Family Fun Day" at Stampede Park...
Its an agricultural show aimed toward kids. Obviously we knew that Hadley wouldn't understand the farming part of it, but there were animals there (and LOTS of them) so we knew she would LOVE IT!
It takes Hadley a while to warm up to most people but she has NEVER had an issue warming up to any animal. She loves them all. We saw Cows, Pigs, Chickens, Sheep, Goats, Horses, Alpaca, etc... You get the point, lots of animals. Every fence/enclosure that we came to with any animal in it, she would try her best to get to them. She wanted to pet everything. I would pull her away as she stuck her feet/legs, arms, and finally her head in a last stitch effort to 'get to the animals'. She would run from pen to pen so excited to see the next animal! There was only one animal, a horse, kids were aloud to pet and this was her FAVORITE!!!! She is defiantly her mother's daughter... Horses are in her blood. They had a bunch of animal statues that she kept running up to and hugging... She would get mad and start hitting them though when they wouldn't move! haha. We were kind of disappointed there wasn't more petting, but after seeing how much she loved it, we are going to a petting zoo this weekend! :)

We are so grateful that our friends Dave and Megan had us over to their beautiful, very kid friendly home, for a cookout before we left OK. Hadley had so much fun, especially with Paige's golf clubs that she was sweet enough to share with Hadley and Beckham. He are a few pics of all of the kids have a blast fighting the Oklahoma wind and "playing golf"!

I love that our group of friends all have kids close in age! I am going to love watching them all grow up as friends!!!

We are so blessed to be able to go home as often as we do, even if the trips never seem long enough! We miss everyone so much and HATE being so far away! The countdown is officially on until we no longer have to visit!

I am seriously entertaining the idea of separate beds for G and I!!!!

Since his accident 10 days ago he has been on pain meds at night to help him sleep... Well it may help him but its keeping me from sleeping! Ever since he started them he has been sleeping like a MAD MAN! Tossing and turning, twitching, yanking covers off, kicking me, etc... I miss the days of being a sound sleeper, but since Hadley was born I am the lightest sleeper in the world! I feel bad for G, but I told him this morning that he has to sleep downstairs tonight in the guest room because I was entertaining thoughts of strangling him in his sleep about the 5th time he work me up last night!!!!
He had his surgery this morning so hopefully this will be the last night on the pain meds, or his move downstairs will be a permanent one! haha... But seriously!

Time to Vent

I really don't like to complain on this blog, mostly because I never want people to think that I/we don't know how blessed we are. We have a beautiful little girl, a wonderful family, the best friends a girl could ask for, a great paying job, and the worlds best husband!!!! With that being said we have our struggles too! This past year has been a challenge financially! Graham is in school (8-5, M-F) and playing hockey for the school so working for him was not and is not an option! So for the last 6 months we have been living on one income (mine)! And the 1st 4 months was Mat leave pay so defiantly not my full pay! G worked unbelievably hard over the summer so we had a good savings going into the school year... Enter disasters!!!! I swear I think we are cursed. We have no debt (other than student loan and mortgage) so that is good, but it seems like every time we get a little ahead something ridiculous happens that sets us back!!! Let me back up to the fall... Addicus breaks her foot, $500 then she gets a life threatening infection- $1500, then Baxter severes a tendon in his leg - $1200! I promise we are great pet owners! Don't get me wrong we would have spent whatever it took to save our dogs, but $3200 in a 6 weeks span is not an easy pill to swallow! Fast forward to January! We are actually doing OK. Nothing on Credit Card and we can live on what I make every month! So we decide maybe its time to take a hot vacation! My wonderful father-n-law got us a trip to Hawaii as a wedding present so what better time to use it than now!!! All we have to worry about is spending money! WOOOOO WHHHOOO!
If you know me very well, you know that I stress about money, even when we have it so I should have known that because I felt so at ease about the trip something had to be coming to stress me out!!!
I wont go into details but after a little wrestling match between Addicus and my mom's little dog Gizmo, we got to spend another $1000 for a vet bill the 3rd week of February!!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!
OK, that had to be it right....
Oh no! Last Friday, during G's hockey game, he took a puck to the mouth, splitting his lip requiring 6 stitches, along with knocking out his bridge and 3 teeth!!! So now we have paid close to $700 dollars to get it 'temporary' fixed we have been quoted $13,000-$15,000 to get his teeth permanently fixed!!!!
HOLY SHIT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! And of course our dental insurance wont cover the work!!!! I should have started crying right? But instead I started laughing! I am pretty sure the dentist and G thought that I had lost my mind! But at this point its comical how bad our luck is!!!
We don't blow money! We don't live outside our means! We don't buy new cars or toys!
We just have the WORST LUCK IN THE WORLD!!!!
Please wish us luck in our battle with the school to get them to pay for some of this.... We will need it!

Thank God we have a million air miles saved up or I defiantly wouldn't be getting back to OKC this year!

Hadley - 14 Months!

I cant believe my sweet girl is 14 months old (Yesterday)!
She is getting so big and has such a beautiful personality! I love to hear and see her laugh, which she does non-stop. That girl rarely has bad day... We ARE SO BLESSED! She eats good, sleeps great, and loves to be cuddled! Her new favorite thing is 'being chased'! Its funnier for some reason with Graham does it, but he will get on his hands and knees and chase her around the couch!!! She laughs so hard she usually falls over a few times! My Mom and I just sit and watch, killing ourselves laughing at the two of them!
Last week my sweet girl got 'THe Croup"! It was awful! I still have no idea where she could have gotten it from but my heart broke to see her so sick! I thank God every day for having a healthy baby! This was the 1st major (taken to the emergency room) sickness she has had! I was so panicked waiting in the ER every time the nurse, intake nurse, or whoever the third person was that asked me her symptoms that I just started crying!!!! I am sure they thought I was crazy but something about being in the Children's Hospital, holding your sick baby over-whelmed me with emotions! We were in and out within an hour and Hadley was given a steroid to beat the Croup. Within 24 hours she was feeling a lot better! She still has a little cough but they said that will go away within a week- 10 days!

Other than that our life has been pretty normal (for us anyway).
Grahams sisters and their families are coming into town on Friday so we will have a full house this weekend!!! We are excited to see them, especially the kiddos! Hadley loves playing with her cousins!

Change of Plans

Ok, Ok. So things change right?

1st of all, I am no longer "attempting" to run the OKC 1/2 Marathon! The timing just isn't going to work out for us to be in OKC that weekend! I was really looking forward to it, but oh well! Maybe next year ;)

2nd- we are no longer going to Costa Rica (for a lot of reasons), but we are now going to MAUI May 6-14th!!!! Flights are booked, and accommodations booked....that's right folks, we are going on Vacation!!!
We are so excited and its LONG over due. Graham and I always said that we would take at least one vacation every year but so far we haven't stuck to it :( Mostly because every time I get any time off I want to go home! I am sad that I wont be home in May but will be home sometime this summer! It depends on G's work schedule but for now it looks like June 30-July 12th!!!! Of course that could change, but defiantly no later than July!!!

Well I hope everyone is staying warm! Is anyone else wanting to see summer!!!!

Two weeks down...

After two weeks of being back to work, I can honestly say, it has gotten MUCH easier.

Dont get me wrong, its still torture leaving the house every morning, and I miss Hads so much during the day!!! I would still much rather be at home with her than at work, but the days (usually) go by fast and I LOVE going home to my sweet girl! Her smile lights up my life! When I come through the door she is SOOOOO happy to see me! She immediately starting laughing and runs to me! She always looks so happy to see me, which makes my heart melt! It almost makes being away all day worth it.

My Mom is still loving being with her during the day and we love having her so we may never let her leave!!! We are still unsure what we will do after she leaves in May, but the uncertainty of my job and Graham being away for most of the summer makes it almost impossible to plan that far a head. So for now we are just praying about it and hoping the right doors open so that we do NOT have to put her in a daycare.

We have also decided on a MUCH NEEDED "hot" vacation! We haven't been on one since our honeymoon 2 1/2 year ago! We are going with a group of friends (and Hadley) to Costa Rica May 7-14th! We are so excited! I seriously already have a countdown up on my board at work! We are also going to OKC first which makes it even better! I am running (attempting) the OKC Memorial 1/2 Marathon on May 1st! Hopefully I don't have a heart attack and make it to Costa Rica! haha. So OKC April 30th-May 6th, Costa Rica May 7-14th, back to OKC, then Calgary on the 15th! It will be a lot of traveling but well worth it!

So today was a the 'big day'!
It started as badly as I expected.... The one good thing was Hadley, who usually gets up around 6:30 was still asleep when I left at 7:30! This sucked because I had to leave without seeing her or saying goodbye, but it was easier to leave without her screaming as I walked out the door. That was as good as it got though...
I was so upset getting ready that I made myself physically sick... yes, I THREW UP! (sorry I know its gross)! I am glad that I had only had OJ. I decided breakfast was a no go after that!
So I left for work in -20 degree weather, and on the on the way to work almost crashed my Jeep 3 different times! The roads were terrible not to mention I was bawling my eyes out the entire way.
I got to work, parked the car, and pulled myself together... I actually made it through security and talked to my boss for about 3 minutes before she asked about Hads and I lost it again! Needless to say this happened every time anyone asked me about Hadley (which was everyone) until lunch. I am so grateful that I work with all women and all mothers! Everyone understood and were super supportive. I went to lunch with some girlfriends which was a nice break in the day... The rest of the afternoon was pretty good. No Crying.No breakdowns.

It was horrible but I actually was doing a lot better than I expected by the end of the day. Hadley on the other hand did wonderful! No big breakdowns and was SOOOO HAPPY to see me when I got home. This made we want to cry, happy tears. She is so awesome and I love her so much. She was attached to my hip and G's (he has been gone for 5 days) for the rest of the night. Cuddle time before bed takes on a whole new meaning when you dont see your little one all day. I know tomorrow will be hard too, but hopefully a little easier than this morning.

Today was a rough day for my little one :(

She had her 1 Year Old shots, 3 OF THEM!!!! I shed a few tears along with her. It is absolutely the WORST feeling in the world to see your child in pain, especially when you 'let it happen'! I am pretty sure she cried harder than last time. I dont blame her though! I had the MMR a few months ago and I thought I was going to cry! It hurt so bad! Anyway, she was a trooper. She cuddled with me and then crashed for almost 2 hours when we got home. So far, no negative reactions.
My big grow continues to grow! She is 21.5 pounds and 30 1/4 inches long! She didnt hold a candle to the 6 month old that we were sitting next to when he weighed in at 22 pounds!!!! haha. He was a chunky little/big guy!

This week :( Bitter sweet

I am going to try and not give the pity party too much because I know how blessed I am... With that being said, I am going to pity my self a little bit for a minute! This week is my last week at home with my sweet pea! I have been so blessed to be home with my angel, on maternity leave (THANK YOU CANADA) for the last year! I think that EVERY Mother that wants it anyway, should get the opportunity to have this incredible mat leave.
But here comes Monday! I go back to work on Monday and there have NO shortage of tears shed talking and thinking about this. I am so incredibly sad about going back to work but know that I am doing it for our family. With Graham being in school I really didn't have another option. We are very thankful that my Mom has agreed to come up and stay with us for a few months! This is so awesome because it allows us to keep Hadley out of daycare for a few more months and gives me an opportunity to get 'use to' the idea of leaving her with someone, and give us a chance to save a little money.... Especially since daycare here is literally 2ice as much as it is in Oklahoma.
I am sure I will have a few sad posts in the next couple of weeks but please bare with me! I am going try to see the positives it all. My Mom is so excited to spend so much time Hadley (and us) and I am happy that she is going to get to know her so well.

For the rest of the week I am just going to love my little girl every second of the day!
Say a little prayer for us in our transition next week.

So I am pretty much the worst blogger EVER!!!!
In my defense though, I haven't really been in Calgary that much in the last 2 months!
I have been so been blessed to be able to spend a lot of time in OKC in the last couple of months! Its so nice being home and seeing friends and family! Its crazy how much everything changes from one visit to the next!

So what has been going on with us....
First was Hadley's Birthday! I know everyone says this, but 'Where has the time gone'? My little sweet pea is officially a toddler! Seems like just yesterday the doctor was placing her in my arms! We love watching her grow and learn new things everyday, but honestly would love to keep her his age/size forever! She is so awesome!

She is roughly 21 pounds, and 30 or so inches tall! She is in all 12-18 month clothes and size 3/4 shoes!
She eats pretty much anything you much in front of here! She is such a great eater!
She is walking so well now! Still faster crawler, but is really getting around walking. She babbles A LOT, but the only words we can make out are Mama and 'Up'!

Graham finished his first semester and did AMAZINGLY! He finished with STRAIGHT A's and 1 B!!! We are so proud of him! 3 More semester and then he is finished and we can get back to a somewhat normal life!

Well I will save some for the end of the week!

So Miss Hadley is teething again...
It started about 2 weeks ago when her moods changed a little bit and of course the DREADED diaper rash was back!!! After a week of this her runny nose started so I thought for sure teething, but then a cough started? Wait a minute, maybe this is jut a cold? 2 days ago diarrhea started and yesterday we thought we were going to have to take her to the emergency room! She was refusing to eat or drink anything, screaming for hours, and the worst diarrhea I have EVER seen! She never ran a fever and drank about 3 ounces last night so we decided to wait out the night. Today is such a better day! She still has diarrhea but is drinking formula at a normal rate again!!! And guess what, a top tooth popped through!!! I think it so crazy how different the symptoms are from the bottom two teeth that she got a couple of months ago and this tooth (think there is another that will be coming through soon).

Other that that, Hadley has been doing amazing!!! She is eating more & more solids, and growing like a weed! I love her personality! She is so sweet and loves to be held and cuddled! I think God everyday for giving us such an amazing little girl.

10 Months

Well hard to believe but its been 10 months since our angel joined our family :)
Hadley is growing like a weed and we are loving seeing her little personality develop. Graham thinks he is in a little bit of trouble since she 'appears' to have my temper! haha. She is such a sweet girl. She loves to cuddle and give sweet hugs to mommy and daddy. I think she is learning to give kisses, but it usually is just her gumming my face or biting my nose! ;) She is getting a little braver when it comes to walking. She cant do it on her own, but holds onto the couch, love seat, ottoman, or her walker and takes off. She crawls so FAST and is into EVERYTHING! She loves staring at herself in the glass on the front of the stove and 'helping' Mommy in the kitchen, aka, following me around in while I am cooking.
She is so happy and I LOVE seeing her sweet smile. She has started want G and I call the 'duct and roll' during diapers changes... Which simply means when as soon as we get her diaper off, she arches her back, rolls, and crawls away as fast as possible giggling her little head off! haha. Most of the time we think its pretty funny... Ok, all of the time! :)

AND HER FIRST WORD IS:

MAAAAA MMMMMMAAAAAA! That's right mama! I love hearing it.... Honestly the best feeling ever when she is saying mama, mama, mmmmmm ma! hehe. We are now working on Dada.

She is getting so big. She is mostly in 12 month clothes these days. She is a little string bean, long and lean.
We have starting planing her first birthday party! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! I am sure every mother feels this way, but seriously, 1st birthday? Already? We are so excited to celebrate with her, just sad that its gone so fast.

Last week one of the most amazing women I have ever known went to be with Jesus. Leslie 'Bond' Evans was such a special person. A wonderful wife, mother, friend, sister, and so much more. She had a beautiful voice that she shared with so many. We were so fortunate to have her sing at our wedding 2 years ago. I will never forget her and miss her dearly. 9 Months (a little late)

My sweet pea was 9 months old on the 16th! Hard to believe... She is becoming such a 'little person'!
She makes us laugh EVERYDAY, multiple times a day. She has such a great personality! Always happy and always aiming to please. She loves it when she makes you laugh and will repeat whatever she is doing to make you laugh, over and over again when she realizes you are laughing at her. She loves to clap, she loves to shake her head 'no', she loves to stand up, pull up on everything including the dogs!
We went to get my MMR shot the other day so I weighed her while I was there and she is tipping the scales at 19 pounds! She is so tall you would never guess she ways that much. All of her pants are 12M and most tops are still 6-12M!

We have been so crazy busy with Graham starting school and hockey! He leaves the house at 7:30 and gets home around 7:30 (3-4 days a week)! Games start next week so we will also be losing him on Friday/Saturday nights!!!! It sucks so bad, but we know that it has to be done right now. It is defiantly a means to an end. It will be like that for the next 5 months and then it will slow down a little once hockey is over! We will be so ready for April 29th to get here.

Diaper Rash is Controlling my life

Diaper Rash is the worst thing I think I have ever encountered!!!
Hadley has been battling diaper rash (off and on) for the last 6 weeks!!! Before that she had it right after she was born but never since then!!! I feel so bad for her! We have done absolutely everything to cure it! The doctor says its just a part of teething, but OMG, she is going to get 20 teeth over the next two years??? Is her little bum going to be in misery for 2 years? We have been to the doctor several times and through 2 prescription creams... The second works for a couple of days at a time and then its back! We are only using wash clothes, not wipes... We change her at least every 2 hours, sometimes more! She screams every time she pees, or poops and is hysterical when we lay her down to change her because she knows what is coming! I feel so helpless! WHAT DO I DO!!!! If you were wondering, this occurs in the night as well!!! Good bye my great sleeper! And I am sorry but I will not let my child 'cry it out' when I know she is in pain!!!! After I change her, sometimes multiple times in the night, she goes right back to sleep, so I know that its just the burning on her bum!
Again! What do I do???

So last Thursday, August 26,2010 Hadley officially started crawling! We are so proud of her but we, of course, both missed it!!!! GRRR! I am with her 24/7 and I missed it! We were over at a friends house Thursday night and while G was out in the field working I decided to take Baxy for a walk (he cant be off a leash for 14days) so I left Hads inside with Sandra and went for a walk... I was outside maybe 10 minutes and when I got back in she was crawling across the living room! UGH! But YEAH! She has been working on it for a while, scooting a long, but finally got the courage to take off! We love her so much and cant believe how fast this is all going...

When will it end?

Anyone that knows us, or reads the blog, knows that we are having a streak or bad luck!
We just want to know when it will end!!!

From the start... Graham has been working double shirts to earn extra money since he won't be working while in school. So he works on the oil rig from 11p-7am, comes home and sleeps until about noon, the goes a works for a friend in his farm until dinner time. Today he wanted to take Bax with him because he has been so depressed without Add! Since I was going into town to hopefully pick up Add I dropped them both off around 1 and headed into town!!! About 15 minutes later G called in a panic saying he would meet at the vet with Bax!!! I guess Bax decided to b brave or an idiot and jump up on the swather(machine G was on) and SEVERLY SEVERED his leg! To clarify they werent operating the machine, it was stopped and they were working on it. We are lucky it wasn't his head and he is alive, but COME ON! So Addicus still didn't get to come home and now Baxter had surgery last night! LIKE I SAID, CAN WE CATCH A FREAKING BREAK!!! When it rains it our house, it doesn't just rain, we get a hurricane!

Baxter is doing good today and will maybe come home tonight. We will know more around lunch.

Sorry to keep bringing everyone down... Hopefully will have happier post soon.

I have no ides what her deal was with sticking her tongue out that day, but its almost every picture! haha. She is getting so big. She is 18 pounds (ish), pulling up on everything! She doesn't crawl, but gets on all 4's and scoots. She will rock a while and then give up and try to stand! She loves standing! I say it every time but I really cant believe how fast time is going! We are so blessed to have such an angel in our lives!

Crazy/Scary few days!

So we are back in Canada... We were trilled to see Graham but NOT trilled to see the 50 something degree weather! UGH! Its actually up to 72 today so far but call me crazy, that is still a little chilly for me.
Anyway, we got back here late Monday night to find Addicus (our boxer) not feeling the greatest. Graham said she had started 'mooping' the day before. She was still eating so we thought she was just sick and tired of the cast! Tuesday came and went with her in the same kind of mood, eating less but still eating... We were scheduled to get her cast off (she broke her toe 6 weekend ago, cast on for 3 weeks) Thursday afternoon. Wednesday she wouldn't eat at all (except yogurt) so we contemplated taking her in that night but since she already had an appointment the next day we decided to wait since it had only been a day and the vet was an hour away... Thursday morning she seemed just miserable! She never whimpered or whelped, just would get off the couch and seemed sad... So we took her in early!
When we got there the vet took her temp to find it was almost 105'! OMG! Addicus wasn't just miserable she was very, very sick! My poor girl! I went back with Add and the vet for them to saw off the cast. She was such a good girl in what turned out to be a very long and loud process! When the got the cast off still bandages underneath the smell was incredible, like death! The vet immediately told me "I should leave the room because she was unsure what she was going to find, but based on her temp and the smell, it was going to be bad"! I left the room and Graham went in while I held Hads. Through the door I could hear the gasps (Graham) and I immediately began to cry. I walked away but then came back so I could hear what the vet had to say. Addicus had Sepsis (and infection in the blood that was life threatening and was the first concern)! They started an IV of fluids and antibiotics right away. She has multiple open wounds on her foot and leg, two very large ones to the bone from the cast being TOO TIGHT! Her leg was/is swollen 3/4 times its normal size... between a baseball and softball at the base of her foot. The next immediate concern was/is the wounds and the infection in her foot/bones. Is there nerve damage and will she lose her foot.
After getting her cleaned up and 'comfortable' we said goodnight to her, cried, and cried some more and then just waited on a phone call! The next morning (Friday) the vet called and said they had gotten her fever under control and the infection in the blood was gone! Praise the Lord the worst (chance of her not making it) was over!
She is still in the vet hospital and probably will be there until Monday (at least)! We had a LONG road of rehab and healing ahead with her but we are just so happy we didn't lose her. She is such a strong, amazing dog! She never let us know it was hurting her (which it had to be agonizing :( ) We feel so terrible! This is our little girl! She has been with me through everything in the last six years!!!

We are still unsure what is going to happen with her foot/leg but she does have feeling in her toes so that is a great sign!!! Thanks for those who called or messaged me... If you know me and Graham, you know how much we LOVE Addicus and Baxter!

Hadley also came down with bronceoulitis (no idea how to spell that, infection in the tubes to her lungs) Friday so now we have two sick girls on our hands! Hadley was given an antibiotic and some breathing treatments (with are horrible) to do over the next week. Its day two of the meds and she is already feeling much better.

Graham and I are absolutely beat with everything that has been going on, but so grateful that Addicus and Hadley are feeling better.

OKLAHOMA!!!

I am so happy that we are HOME!
Hadley and I are missing G a ton, but are LOVING being home! We have been here a few days so we haven't seen everyone yet, but are working our way around town ;) It is of course HOT, but you wont hear any complaints out of me! Hadley and I went to the pool today with my fam and had an awesome time! Hadley absolutely loves the water. The water kept us cool enough. We lasted a lot longer than I thought (3 hours). Hads took a nap in the air conditioning half way through, but then she was right back in the water!

I am sorry I don't have any pictures to post but we left the cord at home. I will make sure to post them when we get back to Canada!

In other news I was a brave Mom on Sunday and left Hads for the first time (other than family)! It was a pretty big step for me and sadly I cant say that it went so well... I decided to leave her in the church nursery for an hour during church thinking 'she'll be fine'! Well I came back a little before service was over to find her SCREAMING bloody murder on some blankets on the floor???? Now you might ask were there a bunch of kids and the lady just hadn't got to her??? NOPE! 2 workers, 3 babies??? THey gave her to me and really didn't explain much to me. They just said that "she wouldn't take her bottle"? Well No, she wasn't hungry! They never tried to give her her soother either! I was so mad walking out of there! She was crying so hard she couldn't catch her breath and anyone who has been around Hadley knows that she doesn't cry that hard EVER! After I got her calmed down I also noticed a carpet burn on her forehead!!! WTF!!! I understand accidents happen but why did neither of these ladies tell me about an obvious fall? What did they not page me out of the service??? Needless to say I will be saying something next week to the lady in charge and probably NOT leaving Hads again for a while.
I will say that this is an awesome church and many of my friends leave their kids there and have never had a problem, so I am hoping this was an isolated incident and maybe the workers were new??? Not sure but I had to vent about it.

Stampede and New Friends!

I have been so bad about blogging!
During Hadley's naps I have been re-reading the Twilight Series! I am such a nerd but LOVE these books so much! There has been a lot going on this month! We have had visitors from out of town and have been loving entertaining!

We actually made it down to The Calgary Stampede this year! It was a Blast! We went to the rodeo Saturday afternoon and it could NOT have been a nicer day! Hadley seemed to love all of the action... or maybe it was the crowd! She is her mothers child in that she loves to people watch. ;)
Other than that we have just been enjoying the month in Calgary. Its nice to be in our on house for a while. Hadley has been loving her little pool. We get out there every chance we get!

We are going to Oklahoma and are SOOOOOOOO excited! I am sad that Graham doesn't get to come this trip because he has to get back to work. I miss he so much and feel awful because he is so sad to be away from Hads. I am so grateful to have a husband that is so generous and understanding! He knows how much I miss my friends and family and is willing to sacrifice time away from us to make sure we see them as much as possible!

I honestly cant believe it. I remember my parents always saying how fast time went, but of course as a kid it seems like it creeping by!

Hadley at 6 Months

I can hardly believe that our little sweet pea is 6 months old! I know that everyone has it but it really does seem like just yesterday that we were bringing her home from the hospital! She has been such an incredible blessing in our lives that I cant (and dont want to) even remember what our lives were like before she entered our lives.
That all being said here are a few things that Hadley is doing at six months:

Rolling over both ways, however, we hardly ever see it because she hates laying down! She has to been sitting up at ALL times! haha.
Sitting up almost by herself. She hits by herself for short periods of time but usually gets excited about something a tips over ;)
Talking (babbling) ALL the time. She LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to talk!
Laughing and giggling at Mommy, Daddy, and the Dogs! The dogs can really crack her up for some reason. They just walk by her and she stars laughing.
Eating solids, baby food that is. She has been eating cereal for a couple of weeks and just started to eat baby food on her 1/2 birthday! So far she has just had sweet potatoes and absolutely LOVES them!
Her favorite toy is still her jump-a-roo! She is in there 3-4 times a day for 20-45 minutes at a time! She is so funny in it and jumps non-stop!
She is back to sleeping through the night much to our delight :)
She loves to cuddle and is such a great little cuddlier

I am sure there is more that I am leaving out. She is growing and changing every day. She is such a little busy body and LOVES everyone. I have not met a person yet that doesn't comment on 'what a happy baby she is'. She has such a happy great personality!

We had her 6 month shots today and she was such a champ! Of course the first time G comes to the appointment she barely cried after I had told him how awful her 2 & 4 month shots were... Little stinker! haha. She now weighs 15 lbs, 15 oz and is 26 1/5 inches long. Still in the 50% in weight and 75% in height! She has gone from a little chunky monkey to a long/lean string bean! haha. The nurse was pleased with her rate of growth and had no concerns (which is always nice to hear)!

We are back in Calgary for the week and it has been SO nice to be in our own house, sleeping in our bed. I can honestly say I have missed Calgary. We are headed back to Saskatchewan on Tuesday for the summer and are hoping and praying for nice (hot) weather the rest of the summer! We will see though.

Anyhow, I hope that everyone has a wonderful Fathers Day weekend.

Not an exciting post to many but for me SOOOO exciting!!!
My days of pumping (5 months, 3 weeks, and a few days) are officially over!!! Its been a valiant effort but after my 3rd stint of Mastitis a week ago, I figured it had been long enough.

Sorry this was a sucky post but I had to share my very exciting news... Now life (and my boobs) can return to normal! hahaha.

Where did all the sleep go????

So I have said it all along... "We are way too lucky to have such a GREAT sleeping baby"!!! Hadley has slept through the night since she was 5 weeks old and we are very aware of how lucky we are for that, but that now has changed :( It started about 2 weeks ago when she came down with a cold (that she and I are both still battling). Bless her heart, she was waking up all of the time because she couldnt breathe at night! We came up when a solution that helped her sit more upright while sleeping so that it would drain and she breathe better but now she has gotten in the habit of getting up at 12, 2, &4! Its so frustrating because she doesnt 'want' or 'need' anything? We usually just give her the soother or hold her hand for a few minutes and she goes back to sleep.
I will say that I have not been this tired since the first few weeks after she was born! And poor G has been on the 7-3 shift so he is REALLY NOT getting any sleep. Unfortunately I think its going to come to the dreaded 'cry it out night'! We are really not looking forward to this but what can you do? WE are going to give it another week or so and hope that it fixes itself but who knows?

Everything else is going great! We are heading back to Calgary on the 17th for a week for Had's 6 month shots... This will be the first one G is going to be there for and he is NOT excited about it.
We are really hoping the weather smartens up soon! There is no point to being at the lake all summer if its cold and rainy every day! I am also hoping to get home again before Christmas but right now the plane tickets are OUT OF CONTROL!!!! Hopefully they will come down.

Its been a while...

Hello all... well the 3 of you that read! haha.
I have been a terrible blogger lately! We have been moving around so much its hard to remember to blog and when I do remember I am usually without Internet! :(
Graham, Hadley, and I found a place for the summer. We are staying in a cabin on the lake all summer while G works out in Saskatchewan. Its not 'exactly' where we want to be, but at least we will all be together.

Hadley is doing amazing! She is still growing like crazy! I cant believe she is already 5 1/2 months old! I wish I could freeze time for a while... She still rolls from her back to her stomach, still HATES tummy time, and LOVES here jumperoo. She has been eating cereal from a bowl for a week now and is such a great eater! I cant believe in 2 weeks she will be eating baby food! Slow down, please!!! ;)
She sleeps from around 9-6 most nights, eats and goes back to sleep until 8:30 or so. She takes 2, 1-2 hour naps during the day and a 20-30 power nap in the evenings most days.
Her hemagoma is still the same size (or smaller) so we are very happy about that and it still isnt bothering her!

We took a trip out to Vancouver at the beginning of this month to visit some of G's family and had a blast! It is such a beautiful city! Hadley was a great traveler of course and loved meeting some of her extended family! Thank you to Larry, PJ, and the boys for letting us bunk in for a few days and showing us the sites!

4 1/2 Months

More shots today!
Hadley had her 2nd set of shots today! She was such a champ! Of course she cried and it was so heartbreaking but all it took was cuddling from Mommy and she was back to her happy self!
She now ways 14 pounds, 7.5 pounds and is still 25 1/4 inches long! 50% weight and 75% length! She is such a big girl!

We are back in Canada and of course its freezing and snowing (yes in May) but we are making the best of it and hoping it warms up fast! We are going to Vancouver on Thursday to visit some of Graham's family! I am so excited to visit Vancouver. I hear its amazing, so hopefully I will have lots of pictures to post next week.

Hadley at 4 Months

Well my sweet pea is 4 months old (and a bit) and she is getting so big!
She is 13 1/2 pounds and 25 inches long! She is rolling over and laughing at everything! She has the cutest little giggle! Her Daddy can make here giggle so hard! I love watching the two of them together! Hadley has her 4 month shots on May 4th. Graham will be at work so I unfortunately be taking her by myself again. I am dreading it even more this time because she is bigger and more aware of whats going on. I dont want her to think I am being mean or doing something hurtful to her! I really hope she forgives me :( Its probably best Graham isnt going to be there... I dont think he could take it! We had an appointment to get Hadley's ear's peirced and Graham totally chickened out! He is such a weeny! hehe. He said that I can take her in August when I am here, so we will see then!
We are still in OKC, but only for another week. I am so sad to go back to Canada but feel better about it knowing that me and Hads wil be back in August! Graham leaves tomorrow and we are going to miss him sooooooooo much! 10 days is going to feel like an eternity.
This week is the last week of my 5 week boot camp! It turned out to be really great! I missed a couple of times with everything going on with Hads but have been really impressed with myself! I am still not exactly where I want to be physically but I am getting there! I have lost all of my 'baby weight' and then some, but would really like to get back into wedding shape. Gaining inspiration from my friend Lauren I am going to start running! I mean really running! Considering I wil not be anywhere near a gym this summer, I figure it will be the best way to get into 'wedding shape' again. I downloaded an application to my ipod that will help coach me so please wish me luck!

One Year Ago today!

How things change in a year! A year ago today Graham and I got the best news of our lives... WE WERE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!! It was the best/scariest feeling ever! Hadley will be 4 months old tomorrow and we could not be more in love with her. She is such a blessing in our lives.
She is 13.3 pounds and 25.25 inches long. She is eating about 24-26 ounces a day. She gets 2 ounces of formula and the rest breast milk... YES, I am STILL pumping! haha. I keep saying that I am going to quit because I am so sick of it but I havent just yet! If I can do it for 2 more months I am pretty sure I should get a supermom award! haha. ;) Hadley rolled over for the first time last Sunday, but has yet to do it again! She loves to cuddle when she is sleepy, which I love! The rest of the time she has to be able to see everything! She is so social :) She loves to be held, but is happy playing on her mat on the floor as well. She loves pretty much everyone, but I love that she has 'Mommy Moments'. This is when I am the only one she wants. :)

We did have a scary last couple of days...
I week ago Saturday we found a lump on Hadley's shoulder... After multple doctor's visits, an ultrasound, and meeting with a pediatric specialist, they have diagnosed it as a Vascular Hemangioa Mass which is a:

'Infantile hemangiomas are benign vascular neoplasms that have a characteristic clinical course marked by early proliferation and followed by spontaneous involution. During the proliferative phase in the neonatal period or early infancy, a rapidly dividing endothelial cell proliferation is responsible for the enlargement of infantile hemangiomas. Finally, an involutional phase occurs, whereby most infantile hemangiomas are clinically resolved by age 9 years.'

Hers is different because it is under the skin where most are on the surface, big and red, hers looks like a bruise. The specialist said that it could stay the size it is now (4CM) or could grow to the size of a grapefruit! We are hoping a praying that it stays this size or smaller. There is nothing medically doctors can do for it. WE will just watch it over the next couple of years to make sure that it is not impeding on blood flow or breathing.
We love her so much and ask for your prayers for her over the next couple of years.

We are heading back to Calgary on May 3rd :( OKC has been so amazing and I am NOT ready to go back to Calgary! We will be spending the summer in Sasky so we are just praying for GREAT weather!!! :)

OKC so far

Well we have been home for 3 weeks (tomorrow) now and we are having a blast! I cant believe so much time has already passed, it seems like we just got here! Hadley has been having so much fun getting to know so many new people!
Last week we went to Arkansas to see my Mom and some friends and had a great visit! We wish we could have stayed longer, but had to get back to a busy, busy weekend! Saturday morning we had family pics/ Hadley's 4 month old pics done! The photographer said that Hads was the BEST baby she had ever shot!!! She was such a good girl being passed around and posed and million different ways! I cant wait to see how they turn out and will post some as soon as they do. We then went to my brother's baseball game! He did such a great job! I cant believe how grown up he is... and such a great little ball player!
Sunday morning we had my little sweet pea's dedication at church! Once again she was amazing! Pretty sure she was born for the stage! ;) Afterwards we all when out to lunch and a great time with family.

Hadley also rolled over for the first time today! I cant believe how big and strong she is! She amazes with something new every day. We have a doctor's appointment in the morning for a 'bump' on her shoulder that doesnt seem to want to go away so please say a little prayer for her. We are sure its nothing but are still going to get it looked at.

We still have a couple of weeks left here in OKC so I will keep you posted on our trip!

So the time has come...
I have been breastfeeding (pumping) for 14 weeks now but have slowly been producing less and less milk! We are thinking, as early as tomorrow, that we will have to start supplementing some formula. I just cant keep up with my little porker! haha. So the question is... WHAT FORMULA! I seriously stood in the formula aisle for 30 mintues today and left empty handed! I just dont know which one is best! Do I go with the most expensive one, or one that says ' closest to mothers milk' or with DHA (or something)??? There are so many and they are quite pricy! I just want to pick the best one for her, for the best money! Any suggestions are MORE than welcome.

Other than that, we are in Oklahoma and LOVING it! I miss being here so much! I want get into that right now though... We hope to see everyone while we are here. Hadley has been a BIG hit so far. She is such a sweet little girl and Loves everyone.

3 Months Old

I honestly cant believe 3 months has pasted since the birth of our little girl! She is so amazing! We are so blessed! She is growing and changing every day. I am glad she is so healthy and growing but sometimes I get sad that she is growing so fast... Graham says every day that he wishes she could stay this size forever and I totally agree! She is just so cute !
We went to the doctor last week and she was 12 lbs, 1.5 oz and 23 1/2 inches! This puts her is the 75% in weight and 90% in height!!! She is such a BIG girl! :)

So even before I got pregnant, and during my entire pregnancy I said that the second I could work out again I would be ALL OVER IT!!! Well 11 1/2 weeks after giving birth I have been to the gym a total of 1time! Thats right, ONCE!!! I cant believe how hard it is to make it to the gym. Even harder since G isnt here right now. It seems like there is never enough time in the day! I really hope other Moms have this same struggle! I am going to try and go EVERY day this week! haha. At least I set goals right...

Bath time!
We are having such a struggle with bath time. Hadley absoulutly HATES baths! She screams bloody murder the entire time. I can not take it! It makes me so sad to upset her so baths are not the most important thing in our lives right now :( It may be gross but she is only averaging 2-3 a week right now. I clean her with a cloth every day but is it bad that I would rather not give her a bath because of how upset she gets? I hope this doesnt make me a bad Mom? Any suggestons on how to make her like baths is more than welcome????

Today was a gorgous day out so we went for a big walk and play on our patio for a while. She loves being outside and I think she will LOVE Spring in OKC and Summer here...

19 days until OKC! We cant wait to see everyone.

Well today was a hard day...
Hadley had to get her 2 month old shots (a couple of weeks late) and I had to take her because G is out of town! It was HORRIBLE! 3 needles in one sitting is aweful! I honestly dont think I could sit through gettting 3 at once! So mean to do to an 11 week old. :( She did really well. She cried pretty hard for a couple of minutes but was laughing again soon after! She is such a trooper. I defiantly shed a tear (or ten)!
She is now 11wks, 2 days old, weighs 11 pds 11 oz and is 23 1/4 inches long! She is in the 75% in height and 50% in weight! I cant believe that she has gotten so big! She laughes constantly and is such a happy baby. She is sleeping through the night which is AMAZING! We are so blessed!

Hi everyone!
Well we are back in Calgary! Its so nice to be back in our house, and have my bed! :)
Graham is only here until Tuesday (which sucks) but al least we get a few days together... Hadley is going soooo great! She is growing like crazy! We had here weighed and measured yesterday and she is 11 pounds, 8 ounces and 23 3/4 inches long! She laughs and smiles constantly! She is a great eater and sleeper (thank goodness)! :) She has been sleeping in her crib for 2 days now and is doing great! She slept last night from 9:30 - 8:00 am!!! That is the latest she has slept and of course it was the morning that I had to pick up my sister at the airport at 5 am!!! haha! Oh well, I am use to being up early by now...
Speaking of... SHANNON is here! Hadley is loving her Aunt Shannon! And I am pretty sure Shannon is loving Hadley! :)

Graham and I are loving being parents! We LOVE Hads so much! We are so blessed.
Graham is still working in Saskatchewan. He hates it but it great money for the time being. We have been out there with him for the last few weeks which is hard because there was NOTHING to do and its so cold out there. Me and Hads are here (Calgary) for 2 weeks and have a few doctors appointments. Hadley has her first set of shots on Friday and I am so dreading it. I know she has to have them but I DO NOT want to be there. On the 12th we are heading back to see G for a couple of weeks and THEN OKLAHOMA!!!!

We cant wait to see everyone in OKC!

Hi Friends!!!
Well its been a while... We have been a busy family. With G's job we have be 'moving' around A LOT! I am actually in Saskatoon this week because Graham is on graveyards for the week so I thought me and Hads would spend some time with G's family and The Prosofsky's. Its been a great week, but we are defiantly ready to get back to Daddy.
Hadley is growing like crazy! She is offically out of all newborn clothes and into 0-3 month! She is such a happy baby. I am always scared to brag too much because I dont want to jinx myself, but she is amazing! The only time she cries is when she is hungry and sometimes when she gets over tired! We read and have been trying to follow "Baby Wise". I am not sure what all we have done because Hadley has made it so easy for us? She is a very routine baby. She sleeps most nights from 11-6 or 11:30-6:30! I know, 7 weeks old... We are spoiled! Hopefully she keeps it up.

We have also scheduled her dedication for April 11th at BFC (in OKC) for the second service...
We would love for as many friends and family who can make it to please come!!!

We are soooooo looking forward to making the trip to OKC! We dont have the exact dates because it depends on G's work, but its looking like we will be headed down around the 23rd of March - the end of April!!! I cant wait to see everyone! And Hadley is very excited to meet everyone!

One Month old and Mastitis!!!

Hello all!

My little sweet pea turned a month old on the 16th! It doesnt seem possible that over a month has passed! Hadley is such a good baby. She loves to cuddle and be held, but has no problem going down at night. She is still sleeping with me, but we plan to make the big move to the bassinet (in the pack-n-play) next to the bed, next week. I am sure this will be harder on me than her... She probably wont even notice! haha!

She is such a 'talker'! I love it so much when she starts ohhh and aweing! She goes on and on, especially when we are going to bed at night! She is sleeping a little less, but still most of the day. Her neck muscles are getting so strong! She now holding her head up for a longer and longer staring at me! :) Her baby acne is starting to clear up. It got so bad at about 3 weeks old. I hope it goes away soon. The doctor said that its completely normal for her age... We have her 1 month checkup on Wednesday! I am so excited to see how big she has gotten! She is growing so fast! Part of me wants her to slow down!

In other news...

I am writing this from my bed as I am recovering from MASTITIS!!! Thats right, after all of my breastfeeding struggles now this! Friday and Saturday I have honesly never felt so sick in my life! I went into the doctors Friday evening after my fever hit 103 F and it was pretty clear from all of my symtoms and the GIANT lumps in my right breast that I had Mastitis... For those of you who are not familer with this delightful term. Mastitis is an infection of the breast, it is also known as a 'milk fever'! It basically mimic the flu, plus severe breast pain in the infected breast. It came on fast and furios! I got 2 presciptions, one for the infection and fever, and one for the pain (yes its that bad!) After 48 hours of medication I actually got out of bed and showered today! I will be on meds for the next 5 days and hopefully it will go away! They are not sure what causes it, guess I am just 'that lucky'!!!

Well that is all for now. I am leaving Thursday to go be with Graham after 2 1/2 LONG weeks apart! I cant wait to see him, and I know he is so excited for us all to be together again... I think being away was a lot harder now that Hadley is here. :(

Breastfeeding (warning maybe TMI)

SO! I am sorry if people don't want to read about my struggles with breastfeeding, or my nipples, but I figured that venting/mom discussions is what this blog has become so here I go...

Before Hadley was born I was on the fence about breastfeeding. I knew that its "whats best" but I thought I would struggle with the modesty, or lack there of, in it all. Turns out after childbirth those fears all vanished. I actually wanted to breastfeed. The first 2 days (in the hospital) I BF. It was so painful! Nurses helped with the 'latching' but on day three I said forget it! My nipples were raw, blistered, and bleeding! I went to see a lactation consultate but I just cried anytime I tried to feed her. So I started pumping. We then learned that I was not supplying enough for her to eat, which explained why she was so mad, and wanting to eat ALL the time! The lactation nurse said to just pump for a few days to let my nipples heal, and I started a prescription to help my milk supply.
Hadley will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and I have not been able to BF since then. She is on breast milk only which is whats important, but its been so frustrating! I pump every 3-4 hours and have continued to take my prescription, but I still feel like a failure to some extent. I really never thought I would want to BF but now that I cant, its like I failed? I know that is crazy, but just how I feel. I spoke to the lactation nurse again yesterday and I think I will try a nipple shield, but who knows how that will go. I just want whats best for my little girl. As long as she is getting the nutrients that she needs I will be happy.
Its amazing that even though she is getting breast milk, and only breast milk, I still get the guilt trip from some people about her not actually Breastfeeding? I don't understand it and it makes me furious, but I guess everyone has an opinion!!! I just wish the wouldn't share it with me if its negative!

Ok, I am done. If any Mom's have any suggestions, I will happily take them.

Birth Story... Finally :)

So I am back... Finally! I never thought I would have so little time to keep up with my Blog! But anyway, lots of people have asked about Hadley's birth/my labor, so here it goes...

December 15th- I thought this day was going to come and go with no baby... Oh I was wrong! It was a pretty normal day. In the morning I hung around the house while G was out running a few errands. At 2 I had a dentist appointment which lasted FOREVER! Hadley was NOT happy about me laying in the chair and them prying around in my mouth! She kicked, and kicked the entire time. When I got home Graham and I played cards for a bit. I wasn't feeling well so I decided to take a nap around 5. At 5:30 I woke up with my first set of contractions... Not horrible, but defiantly not pleasant! I went upstairs and told G that I "may" be having contractions? He was like ok, Ill shave and get ready "just in case"! OMG! 8 minutes later I had another set!yelling downstairs... LETS GO!!! It was defiantly happening!!! 7-8 minutes later I could walk, talk, or breathe!!!! I was starting to panic about the pain! Thank goodness we only live a mile and a half from the hospital!
I was so unprepared at how fast it came... The 'books' all say that labor is suppose start with contractions slowly, every 15-20 minutes and get closer, and stronger... Well in the 15 minutes of starting contractions mine went from every 8 minutes, to every 2-3 minutes by the time we got to the hospital...
We skipped triage and went start to labor and delivery. I was practically undressing at the check in. I was sweating and in so much pain!!! By the time they checked me I was 6 CM with contractions 2-3 minutes apart. I honestly thought I was dying! :( It was the most painful thing I have every experienced in my life. It felt like my insides were being ripped out. I was crying and begging for drugs!!! Around 8 (2 1/2 hours after labor started) I FINALLY got my epidural!!! What a life saver. I would have given anything in those two & 1/2 hours to get those drugs! When they finally kicked in I was so relieved! Our nurse, watching the machine even commented "thank goodness you have an epidural, your contractions are coming every 30-45 seconds and are lasting 2 minutes!!!

They checked me again around 10 and I was 8 cm... At 12:30 they broke my water and said it would be 2 hours or so before I would need to push... Well 20 minutes later I begged them to check me again because i was sure she was coming!!! At 1 they checked me and I was 10 CM and was READY to push!!! They were pretty shocked! So the nurse me and G starting pushing!!! And 52 minutes later at 2:07 am, December 16th, my beautiful baby girl was here!

Things that surprised me were: the pain- I couldn't believe how horrible it was; How fast it came-I really thought that I would go slower, that I would have time to 'adjust' to the pain; Modesty- I am a very modest person and before labor I always said I didn't want G seeing 'things' and that I wanted to be covered, etc... Well in the heat of the moment, I couldn't care less who saw what!!! haha!; Getting sick- I never expected to throw up during labor! Graham said this was the worst part for him, and it certainly wasn't pleasant for me. Puking was something i expected and puking while laying down is no easy feat!!! G was a trooper holding my pale!haha!

Well thats our story... So happy to have her here with us. She is such a good baby. We are so in love with her.

I am issuing 7 day notice for EVICTION. Tenant will have 7 days in which she can either gather her belongings and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until the final day. After which, she will be physically removed from the property. SHe's being evicted due to breech of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back of the house were also made! Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. And due to property damage, there are now leaks in both the upper AND lower levels of the home. On top of which, the landlord has received numerous complaints about nightly disturbances. After 7 days from this day that she doesn’t comply with the notice will result in immediate and forceful removal at my discretion. -Mommy

So last week I was 4 cm and the doctor thought the little one would be here by now, but guess what... She isnt! They moved my due date up to the 15th, again, because she thought she would be here... We went back to the doctor's today and tears were shed!!! She said I am still 4 cm and my cervix looks 'very favorable"? Ummm thanks? She said that if I were having contractions with the why my cervix looked they wouldn't let me go home, but until I started having consistent contractions that there was nothing that they would do! And in came the tears... I beg her to set an induction date for next Friday (3 days late) and she said that they would do it until 7 days over!!! MORE TEARS!!!! I had my membranes stripped, AGAIN, very painful, in hopes that it would start labor... So now it is a waiting game, AGAIN! I feel like I am having contractions, but it could just be cramping from the 'ribbing'?

In other news, today was my last day of work! It was suppose to be on Tuesday but since the moved my due date up 3 days I moved my Mat Leave up 2 days! haha.
I am so happy to be done with work, now if my sweet girl will just come out soon!

38 Weeks

38 Weeks and still pregnant! UGH! haha.

We had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I really thought we would have our little girl here last night. My Doctor said that I was 3-4 cm dilated, and my cervix was very thin, so the chances were very good that she would be here this weekend! I guess its only Saturday, but I was really hoping last night would be the night!
I suppose she is a little to comfortable in there :)
Everything else looked good though! She is measuring right on schedule!
We are so excited to meet her!

So, my company laid off 15% of our workforce yesterday! It was a hard day for a lot of people, but luckily I was not one of those let go!
I fill very blessed right now in my life! Thanks for the prayers.

37 Weeks

Well we are officially 'Full Term'!
And so very ready for this little girl to come out and meet us! At our Doctors appointment yesterday we learned that I am 2-3 Cm dilated and my cervix had begun to soften! Sorry if that is TMI... Its very exciting, but of course, things could stall for a while too! I hate the mall right now because of how busy it is, but you better believe I am putting on the miles around it trying to get this baby to come out :)

In other 'non-related baby' news we are in decision mode again!
Of course things aren't going our way (work wise) again. Graham has been pretty much out of work since the middle of October! He had a few things/offers on the go, but of course we started getting jerked around again and nothing has really panned out! Its so frustrating! I feel so bad for my husband knowing how frustrating it is for him! He is the hardest working person I know and any company/person would be lucky to have such a hard working, smart, motivated, and determined man working for them! On a personal note, while we are defiantly concerned about the no-work situation, I/we have been so blessed to be spending so much time together! We know that any day now our lives will change and it wont just be the two of us anymore! We will be parents, whose number one priority will be our daughter! While we are very excited about that, we know that there will be less time for us... With G not working, and me working part-time, over the last 6 weeks, we have got to spend more time together than I think we have in our entire relationship! I love him so much and really do consider myself the luckiest woman alive! He is such a good man, husband, and soon to be father!!! I thank God daily for giving me such a great man to spend my life with.
So now we are back to deciding with to do after the baby comes. I will be on Maternity Leave for the next year, so we are flexible for at least that long. G wants to finish school (2 years, starting in August), so we can do that here, Saskatoon, or OKC... I cant believe that after 1 1/2 years in Calgary we would be considering leaving, but here we are again!!! Weighing options! Some that i DONT like, but we will do whats best for our family.

36 Weeks... UGH, Come on baby ;)

Friday was my 36 week appointment! There wasn't anything exciting, a.k.a, she didn't tell me that I was in labor! haha. The Doc says that everything still looks great. She is measuring perfect, heart rate sounds beautiful, and she is head down, and has dropped! Now it is just a waiting game.
My OB is so sweet and very understanding especially since see is due a week after me! Friday of this week (37 Weeks) she said if my little girl isn't here yet she would start "ribbing" or stripping my membranes??? Sorry that is probably TMI, but its something that could start labor! Its painful, and may not work, but I will try anything at this point! haha.

Why I am miserable...

Maternity clothes: A few tops- one pair of jeans (same)

Stretch marks: Nope :) Hope it stays that way

Sleep: NON-EXISTENT! I am getting about 2 hours at a time... Which is better than it was

Best moment this week: New Moon! haha. Nothing to do with the baby, but I loved the movie.

Movement: Still active! Some times quite painful! She has been tucked under my right rib change for a while, and is not shy about playing the drums on it! (SAME)

Food cravings: ICIES (SP?), and yes, it freezing outside!!!! haha

Labor Signs: none-I have this fear of going into labor and not knowing it, but everyone says that's impossible ;) so we will see... Still the same... Having Braxton Hicks alot

Monitors????

Hello all!

So I have been reading other mom's blogs trying to figure out which monitor would be the perfect fit for us??? I am so lost! haha. We thought for sure we wanted a video monitor, but when looking into them I am not convinced they are worth the money??? I personally think that if we were back in our home in Oklahoma it would be a no brainier because of the set up of our house... I would want one because the master is so far from what would be the nursery, but our house in Calgary the Master and nursery are side by side! So do I need to spend an extra $150 on a video monitor??? Thoughts please! :) We got a very nice Fisher Price Monitor at a shower, $100 value, and the Video monitor that people are recommending is $250??? Worth it? Any advice is appreciated.

In other news this week has been exciting! Ladies at my work threw me a 'surprise shower'! I was so happy! Little Miss Hadley got spoiled again! Then Tuesday morning I woke up at 4 am with killer back pains! I powered through thinking it was nothing, got up at 7 to shower for work and starting cramping... Well we decided to go to the hospital! Thinking I wasn't in labor, but better safe than sorry right? Turns out I have another UTI, which was causing the cramping and my little girl has 'dropped' which was/is causing all of the back pain. Dropping is great because it means she is ready to come (although they said it could be weeks still)! It also sucks because I feel like someone is walking on my back in high heels all day!!! I suppose its all part of it, but UGH!!!!

We have an OB appointment tomorrow so we will see what she has to say. I will be 36 weeks tomorrow so I will be sure to update with the appointment and maybe even a picture ;)
We are getting so excited!

34 Weeks, 3 Days (Pics)

Hello All!

I thought that I would update everyone with some pictures...

Me and the kids... I am 34+ weeks and up 25 pounds, but still hanging in there. It has clearly spread to my face, but I couldn't figure out how to cut my face out of this picture! haha.

We have been working hard on the nursery and this is what we have so far...

We love this wall hanging! The short version of the 'inside story' is that at the end of an email or note, G always says "I love you to the moon and back"! He will probably kill me for posting that, but I love it, so when we saw this wall hanging, we HAD to have it!

This wall has baby pics of G and I! We are also going to have the change table here. We just have to get around to going and picking it up! :)

Wall letters! I thought this was going to be an 'easy' project.... NOT SO MUCH! But we are very happy with how they turned out :)

Well that is our blog update in pictures ;) We have a doctors appointment Friday, so I will update you again then (or next week)

34 Weeks!

My little girl is a pumpkin this week! I find this appropriate considering Thanksgiving is at the end of the month! :) She is roughly 5 pounds, 20 inches long! She is growing like a weed, 1/2 pound a week now! She is taking practice breathes and even opening her eyes! We saw both on an ultrasound a couple of weeks ago! It was awesome! We are getting so excited for her to be here.

How far along: 34 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: +25 (ekkk! I lost 3 the 2 weeks before, and now have gained 8???)

Maternity clothes: A few tops- one pair of jeans

Stretch marks: Nope :) Hope it stays that way

Sleep: NON-EXISTENT!

Best moment this week: Watching G having to do the "push positions" in our pre-Natal class! haha

Movement: Still active! Some times quite painful! She has been tucked under my right rib change for a while, and is not shy about playing the drums on it!

Food cravings: Not really cravings... some days I feel like I could eat everything in sight, others I dont really have an appetite- Same
Gender: Sweet Baby Girl

Labor Signs: none-I have this fear of going into labor and not knowing it, but everyone says that's impossible ;) so we will see...

Belly Button in or out: Still playing peek-a-boo

What I miss: sleep, but I dont think that will improve over the next couple of years

What I am looking forward to: Meeting my sweet baby

Weekly Wisdom: Marry someone that will rub your feet when you're pregnant! Its a lifesaver
Milestones: ? Nursery done... well almost ;)

32 Weeks, 3 Days

Hello everyone!
I thought it was time for a Baby/pregnancy update! :)
We had a doctors appointment Friday and everything looked great. She is active and growing! She is still 'head down' which is awesome! I had actually lost a few pounds, but the doctor said there was no real reason for concern. We met our new OB, who I really liked. She was quiet but very nice. She is also pregnant so she knows everything I/We are going through right now.
We don't have another appointment for 3 weeks, which kind of surprised me, but she said I, and the little girl are healthy and no reason to come back in 2 weeks?

We also had our last ultrasound on Saturday!!! I forgot the disk so I will have to post pics in a later post! It was so much fun. She was sleeping with her arms in her face at first, but with A LOT of poking we finally got her up and moving. We got to see her open and close her eyes, take some 'practice' breathes, and move around. She is so sweet! We love her so much already!!!
It is kind of hard to believe that the next time we see her she will be in our arms... That we are mommy and daddy to someone, that we are/will be parents! Its terrifying and exciting in the same breathe!

Well I better get to work, but we will keep you posted on the excitement coming in the next few weeks!!!
